Summer’s Last Dance Music & Arts Festival Returns to Bridgeview on September 19…. It’s 2026, and dance music is back in the mainstream. Lineup depth, routing, ticket tiers, and whether the promoter can deliver the scale being sold. But with Luminate’s 2026 midyear report in June finding that dance/ electronic outgrew any other genre in the first half of 2026, the wider industry is now banging at the doors of the club. One of the report’s key findings is that U.S. on-demand dance/electronic audio streams grew 18.9% year over year.
This number is largely driven by a few key album releases: John Summit ‘s CTRL Escape (in April), Illenium ‘s Odyssey (February) and Slayyyter ‘s Wor$t Girl in America (March), which also contained the highly streamed single “DANCE…” The most streamed dance track year to date is the Tinashe and Disco Lines smash “No Broke Boys,” which was also a rare Billboard Hot 100 crossover upon its release in 2025.
Travel budgets are tighter, so audiences are pickier about where they put their money. Together, the three projects generated 416,900 equivalent album units through Aug. 13, according to Luminate, ranking at Nos. 1, 5 and 6, respectively, among the biggest dance albums so far this year. Last year at this time, only two of the top 10 highest-streaming dance albums had been released within the calendar year: FKA twigs ‘ Eusexua at No.
7 and Skrillex ‘ s F–k U Skrillex You Think Ur Andy Warhol but Ur Not!! <3 at No. 10. Meanwhile, the July
