LONDON — LIDO Festival has announced the cancellation of two of its three scheduled 2026 dates following a series of assessments regarding ground conditions at East London’s Victoria Park. Organisers confirmed today that the events planned for June 12 and June 14 will no longer go ahead.
The June 12 event was set to feature a line-up including CMAT, Father John Misty, and Sharon Van Etten, while the June 14 date boasted Metronomy and Bombay Bicycle Club. Additionally, Maribou State’s headline performance, originally slated for June 13, has been postponed until August 31.
The decision comes after one of the wettest winters on record, which has significantly impacted the park’s recovery following an intensive reseeding and improvement programme. In a statement, LIDO—which is owned by AEG—emphasized the importance of park preservation, noting that their advisors recommended more recovery time to protect the progress made for the local community.
“Protecting the condition of Victoria Park is of paramount importance to LIDO and to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets,” the statement read. The venue has previously faced environmental challenges; last summer, attendees at the All Points East series reported extreme dust levels following a period of prolonged drought.
The sophomore edition of LIDO had high expectations following a successful debut year that featured day festivals curated by the likes of Jamie xx and Massive Attack. Despite the setbacks, organisers have assured all ticketholders for the June dates that full refunds are available through the official festival website.
