David Guetta Takes World No. 1 For Sixth Time

David Guetta is back at the top of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll. The French DJ and producer was named the World’s No. 1 DJ for 2026 when the results were revealed at Top 100 DJs LIVE at [UNVRS] in Ibiza on 6 October.

It is his sixth win, which puts him clear of Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren, who have each topped the poll five times. Guetta first won in 2011, then returned to No. 1 in 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2025. Fifteen years after the first crown, he now owns the poll’s outright record.

The result comes from a public vote, not a panel of judges. DJ Mag said the 2026 vote drew a record number of ballots from 234 territories. That makes the ranking a useful snapshot of fan support at scale, even if it cannot settle every argument about who is having the strongest artistic year.

Guetta held off Martin Garrix, who stayed at No. 2, while Anyma rose seven places to No. 3. Those movements tell their own story about where the biggest audience attention is landing. But the headline belongs to Guetta: six titles is a number no one else in the poll’s history has reached.

The live reveal took place in Ibiza for a second straight year. Guetta then played at the awards show, part of a 2026 run that has kept him visible in both huge venues and the island club circuit. Guetta said the sixth win felt “pretty serious” and pointed to dance music reaching bigger stages than ever before, according to Bandwagon.

That is the part worth keeping in view. DJ Mag’s poll has always been a popularity contest, and its results are meant to stir debate. Still, a record public vote spread across 234 territories gives this one more weight than a standard promo plaque. It captures the reach of an artist who has remained central to mainstream EDM through several different club and festival cycles.

The 2026 result also keeps Ibiza at the centre of the announcement. The island has become the setting for the Top 100 DJs reveal, alongside the residencies and closing-season conversation that drive autumn coverage. For more from the island, revisit EDM Global News’ Ibiza club coverage.

DJ Mag’s Top 100 started in 1993 as an editorial list to mark the magazine’s 100th issue. It now runs as an open public poll: voters can name five DJs, with no nominations or entry criteria. That format has always rewarded a mix of committed fan bases, international reach and the ability to keep people engaged through a full voting cycle. The arguments around it are part of the event, but the rules are clear enough. Six wins under this system is still a serious benchmark.

For Guetta, there is no shared record this time. He is alone at six. The next vote will start the chase again, but this result has closed the gap between a long-running poll and a real piece of dance-music history. See the full Top 100 DJs 2026 ranking, then read more on EDM Global News.
